Discover the plants that shaped Scotland

A wee bit about
The Useful Plant Company

At The Useful Plant Company, based in Highland Perthshire, we share Scotland’s plant stories: how they’ve been used for centuries, and why they still matter.

Our work is simple: to help others become familiar with the useful plants that grow all around us.
Through guided walks, practical workshops, and collaborative consultancy, we offer many ways to learn, explore, and rediscover how useful plants can be in modern life. Plants useful for food & drink, medicine and beauty, dye and clothing, timber, basketry, sport, music, home and garden, landscape regeneration and biodiversity.

Each experience is built around clear, hands-on learning: we focus on identifying species, understanding their value and using them sustainably. So whether you’re curious about plants or want to learn how to invite them into your life safely, we can help.
