A guided walk through Highland Perthshire’s living landscape.
Step into the heart of Highland Perthshire and take a closer look at the plants that have shaped Scotland’s history, culture, and daily life. This two and a half hour guided walk explores how wild and cultivated plants have long supported our people; in food, medicine, craft, and folklore.
Each session is designed to be exploratory and hands-on. You’ll learn to identify five to ten local species in season and understand how each has served a purpose in Scotland’s story, from the Picts to the Plant Hunters.
Confident plant identification in the field

Medicinal and practical applications, from healing to dyeing
Folklore and traditional connections between people and plants
Simple, sustainable ways to use and recognise plants
Duration: 2 ½ hours
Group Size: Up to 12 guests
Location: Pitlochry, Scottish Highlands: event details will be emailed to you 7 days before the event
What to Bring: A notepad and pen for your own notes, and a camera if you wish to photograph plants.
What to Wear: Wear warm layers and waterproof clothing if necessary
