Overview

Scotland’s woodlands invite us to pause, breathe, and notice more deeply. This guided sensory walk is a chance to reconnect with the natural world through quiet observation and our senses: sight, sound, touch, taste and scent.

Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, this workshops teaches how to immerse oneself in nature to enhance well-being by engaging all the senses. When practiced regularly, it can promote relaxation and mindfulness, helping to reduce stress and improve mental and physical health.

Set in the tranquil landscapes of Highland Perthshire, the workshop encourages a slower pace. You’ll learn simple techniques to heighten sensory perception, reduce stress, and deepen your connection to the living environment.

Every walk is shaped by the season and landscape, creating a calm, restorative experience that will provide you with useful wellness tools to take with you into every day life.

What You’ll Learn

  • Gentle sensory awareness practices to deepen presence outdoors

  • How to identify natural scents, sounds, textures, and shapes in your surroundings

  • Simple breathing and focus techniques to support relaxation and wellbeing

  • Awareness of how seasonal changes affect the feel and rhythm of the landscape

  • Ways to bring sensory mindfulness into everyday life
